Katie Simbala

Katie Simbala is a film maker, photographer, and worship leader with over 20 years in ministry. After coming out as a queer individual, Katie was fired from her worship pastor role but has persevered to become an entrepreneur with two film production studios in Baltimore City where the WE. [worship experience] pop-up’s are held; a queer led worship experience for spirit filled worship and progressive theology to coexist. Katie has become a steadfast advocate for LGBTQ inclusion within the church; she is a dedicated community organizer and leader, striving to heal a culture that has often caused harm to the LGBTQ community. Katie was raised as a charismatic Pentecostal and continues to believe in the move of the Holy Spirit and in the power of communal vulnerability.
